Kick-Off Meeting in Portugal
Ralf Schmid was invited to the kick-off meeting of the European network Soil Tribes. There were presentations of the 30 projects sponsored, and many meetings to establish a viable network. We have been chosen out of 367 applications and are therefore able to realise the project Subtera in 2026. The European Union provides a total amount of 1,750,000 euros to promote the selected projects and we are grateful to be one of them.

01. October 2025
On September 27, 2025, the idyllically located Steingrubenhof in St. Peter near Freiburg was the venue for a special premiere: The first Soil Sound Festival invited about 500 people  to a day full of music, (agri)culture, and inspiration—with a goal that extends far beyond the festival grounds.
Between the Black Forest barn, compost laboratory, and open-air stage, they experienced a varied program of concerts, workshops, family and children’s activities, expert presentations, and games, enjoyed culinary delights, were inspired by new ideas and insights, and were enchanted by the panoramic view.
In times of ecological crises and social division, we believe that the ground beneath our feet connects us. It is, both literally and figuratively, our common denominator—the foundation for food, climate resilience, and a good life. Yet its importance is hardly acknowledged in society and politics. The Soil Sound Festival aims to change that—creatively, collaboratively, and enthusiastically.
