Through sound, we experience what vitality means – and this vitality begins in the soil.
Because soils are the foundation of life – quite literally the basis of our existence. Regenerating soils is one of the most important ways to strengthen and renew our ecosystems.
We explore the connections between culture and agriculture by realising artistic and cultural projects – projects that give a voice to the importance of soil.
Soil Music Projects
Soil Music Collective: The new ensemble of pianist and composer Ralf Schmid: A wild and virtuosic sound experience ranging from meditative sound to boppy beats. With Beatriz Picas (vocals, cello), Tobias Herzog (tuba, trombone), Torsten Krill (drums), Lino Schmid (vocals, git, bass) and Mathis Schwörer-Boehning (beats, synths, vocals). Grounded and spacy.
The Soil Sound Festival combines music, ecology, and community: A day filled with concerts, workshops, sound walks and interactive installations. Local organic culinary and sing-along programmes invite to sensually experience soil as a living eco-system and commonly shape futures.
Subtera converts concerts into a living eco-system: Musicians and audience mutually shape a tonal world which reacts to soil processes and movements. Via sensors, gameplay, and projections, the invisible life of the soil becomes alive. An immersive experiment at the interface between art, ecology, and technology for more soil awareness.
