PROJECTS
Music is a breeding ground for the soul, just as much as the soil nourishes us.
In these spheres, we explore common ground, culture and agriculture, by realising artistic and cultural projects. By doing. Because doing provides nourishment. The doing of music provides nourishment.
Soil is the animated, fertile ground of aliveness, quite literally the basis of our existence. Regenerating soil is among the most vital paths to fortify and renew the resilience of our ecosystems.

Soil Music Projects

The Soil Music Collective
The new ensemble of pianist and composer Ralf Schmid: a wild and virtuoso sound experience ranging from meditative tones to danceable beats. Featuring Beatriz Picas (vocals, cello), Tobias Herzog (tuba, pos), Torsten Krill (drums), Lino Schmid (vocals, guitar), and Mathis Schwörer-Boehning (beats, synths, vocals). Grounded and spacey.

Something’s growing in the Black Forest
Soil, Music, Possibilities. A day with people from the worlds of culture and agriculture at the Holistic Compost Lab in St. Peter (Black Forest). Isabelle Blattmann (farmer and architect), Andreas Doerne (musician and soil regenerator), Silke Schmid (educational researcher), Tim Taylor (farmer), Kai Geiger (journalist), Ralf Schmid (musician).
NAH. An intercultural music endeavor
A music project full of new connections: professional musicians from the Arab-Persian musical culture make music with students from the University of Music and the University of Education in Freiburg and create a program based on Duke Ellington’s “Far East Suite.” Developed in cooperation with the Panoptikum action theater and the “Soil Music” network.
